Ascella is a PVP-oriented frontline / backline disruption hybrid. When entering the battle, she marks the furthest enemy prioritising Snipers. Her Special Skill is a simple frontal AoE nuke, but additionally it does damage to marked enemies regardless of distance. On top of that Passive Skill gives her 20 hitcount iron wall when she is about to die.
Ascella's base stats are bad for the cost. Without damage gear she struggles to kill even the squishiest sniper and her durability hinges on a low HP hitcount check. The only way to apply mark is deploying Ascella again and her special skill Fury count doesn't get reset, so in many cases her redeploy barely has any effect. On top of that she has no detection range behind herself, making it impossible to redirect opponent's frontline with her.
Still, Ascella is a cheap way to pressure backline threats, especially Snipers. Due to innate Anti-Sniper DMG and role advantage, only the most durable snipers can survive properly geared Ascella. As a fury unit she can be combined with Paradox to repeat special skill, killing even those targets (unless they are covered in layered shields). Her hitcount check durability makes her exceptional at surviving very specific things (e.g. she performs very well against Asha Ais). She is also one of the few defenders that can hit air, making her a good answer to a lot of cheese.
Surprisingly, Ascella's jumbled mess of a kit found a relevant niche. She does very specific things and she does them well.
