Review
Heishou pack Adept Horse Sang is yet another hybrid Rupture ID and this time, he has Tremor as his secondary status effect. To start, he is quite tanky due to his innately high Defense level and HP, on top of having shields, Defense Level Up, and Protection. He has several unique effects that buff his allies, making him a good addition to the team, if not for him being Count Negative therefore preventing the same. However, unlike Sinclair, with whom he was released, Uma Sang has access to Dimensional Shredder E.G.O., allowing him to be Count Positive completely.
His Built-in Passive - The Steed’s Houndlike Loyalty, makes him interact with 2 other IDs- Lord Hong Lu and Hierarch Ishmael. The first buff, Exalted Command for the Lord Hong Lu gives him the ability to use Tremor Burst on every skill without reducing the target’s count, making him one of the most frequent bursting IDs in the game without reducing Tremor Count.
Second buff provides Poise generation, Attack Power Up, and S3 follow up after his S3-2 buffs for Hierarch Ishmael, which makes her an even more formidable pick for the Rupture teams, although keep in mind that her Poise Count generation is still one of the problems she faces.
His Third Passive which activates with 5 owned Gluttony (2nd built in Passive will be discussed later), allows him to gain similar stacks to Mao Faust, though this time it is less broken. Those stacks give him shield, Final Power, and are used to activate his S3-2.
To gain these stacks he needs to be faster than the enemy, burst twice or win a clash while having a Strider [Wu] effect. On top of that, he will gain Defense Level Up based on the shield he has on turn start. Strider [Wu] gives him 2 Haste and aggro, and makes him apply some additional Tremor Potency before hitting the enemy.
Those passives increase his tanking abilities and apply strong buffs for the team, so let’s explore his skills next.
Skill 1 - Cut Down and Trample - Base 11 - Max 15 - An average Season 6 Skill 1 ID that applies an average amount of status effect and some bind on clash win while also being Rupture Count negative.
Skill 2 - Crescent Blade Strike - Base Roll 14 - Max Roll 20 - An average Skill 2 that is reliant on Speed for rolls and is neutral on Count. It gives 2 Haste that breaches the 10 Speed threshold for the next turn and applies Concussion effect for the same turn. Concussion increases Tremor Burst Stagger increase and RUPTURE DMG by 20%.
IMPORTANT NOTE: At the time of this review’s release, there is a downgrade from Uptie 3 to 4 as it changes its Concussion application conditions. Before Uptie 4, the condition is having any Deathrite effect, after Uptie 4 the condition is changed to not have any. In his dedicated team, you will always have the Deathrite effect, which is why Uptie 4 will make this skill worse. But without that, his S3-2 Concussion application is not as good.
Skill 3 - Cavalry Vanguard Charge - Base Roll 17 - Max Roll 24 - High damage with average rolls Skill 3 that will apply some Binds and 2 Concussion. This skill is -3 on Rupture Count and does 1 Tremor Burst.
Skill 3-1 - Obsidian Stormrider’s Crescent Decapitator - Base Roll 17 - Max Roll 26 - A very potent AoE skill that gives all allies Command Cry buff on the next turn. This buff will apply 1 Clash Power, 2 Defense Level Up for 2 turns. He also gains 3 Offense Level Up on top for himself through his 2nd built in Passive that we mentioned earlier (this Passive does nothing else). Yi Sang will also apply 2 Concussions against the main target and 1 Concussion against 2 other targets and inflict 2 Tremor Bursts.
Defensive Counter - Preparation Afore The Charge - Debuff removing counter giving Strider Wu.
To conclude his skill set, he is generally a negative Count, team buffing tank ID that is very low on Coin number, making him an average Rupture ID altogether. Concussion is a somewhat strong buff if you have a lot of Rupture on target, but with the currently weird Uptie 3 - Uptie 4 downgrade he has in terms of its infliction, it is not that good.
Heishou Team - Best in slot when you can substitute him in with enemies already inflicted with Rupture, so that his Concussion buff will provide maximum value.
In duo with Hierarch Ishmael - Weirdly strong combination for the Rupture if you can sustain their Rupture Count demands, but even without that, it's strong nonetheless.
In Heishou-Less Rupture Team - Since his S2 is debuffed by Deathrites, you can use him in a team without it to guarantee the Concussion buff. While it is less strong compared to the Heishou team, it is still strong nonetheless.
In Tremor - If you use him in duo with Lord Hong Lu in Tremor, you will be able to generate the much needed Sin affinities for this status effect, while bursting a lot for free. Since their sheer stats are overall higher than average Tremor ID on his release, it is not a bad team.
Dimensional Shredder - Turns him into Rupture Count positive ID, which is a high value.
Crow’s Eye View - Since this ID has a lot of Speed conditionals for increased damage, this E.G.O. is a good choice to guarantee it, on top of having 10+ Speed for your Maos on nuke turns.
