Heishou Pack You branch Sinclair is a Rupture Burn hybrid ID that has quite an interesting role due to his specifics in the kit. Bear in mind that this ID is very restrictive in team building. It also requires E.G.O. usage for additional Rupture Count generation, though not necessary in good team builds. He is very Count negative, and the trade-off to this is to yield huge amounts of damage through multiple Coins and his various passives.
Let’s start to break his kit down through his passives, the First Passive, “Gamefowl, gives the ID “Lord of Hongyuan Hong Lu” Exalted Command interaction, which when it targets Sinclair gives Hong Lu the following effect: “When using a Skill to inflict Rupture Potency or Count, inflict 1 Burn (3 times per turn.) Sinclair also cannot be staggered or fall below 1 HP due to Burn damage, and he will gain 3 Bloodflame in the same turn he substitutes or returns in.” Bloodflame makes him apply more Potency, gives him Haste, and a SP generating passive that will provide Offense Level and more Haste at max SP. This all makes him interact with retreat mechanics quite well which Hong Lu possesses since he can use his Skill 3 fully buffed on the turn he enters the fight.
Sinclair’s Second Passive is giving On Hit against targets with 7+ Rupture Potency a chance to inflict 1 Burn, for a maximum of 4 times per turn. This chance is based on the highest resonance multiplied by 15. On Combat End, if Sinclair has Burn, he will gain 1 Bloodflame, 1 Wrath Damage Up, and 1 Gluttony Damage Up at the next Turn Start. The final part is that he can gain 1 Offense Level Up and 1 Defense Level Up for every 20% missing HP, for a maximum of 3. This passive is quite hard to activate, but provides a good damage increase for his skills.
With all of this out of the way, it is worth noting that the only two ways for Sinclair to apply Burn on himself is to lose the clash with either his Counter or his Skill 3.
That being said, let’s move on to his skills.
Skill 1 - Oh, Let the Smell of Burning Blood… - 3 Coins - Base roll 11 - Max roll 14 - High Coin Skill 1 that deals a decent amount of damage, applies 2 Rupture and up to 3 Burn Potency, while being -2 on Rupture Count.
Skill 2 - …Fuel My Rampage - 3 Coins - Base roll 16 - Max roll 19 - 24 on reuse - When the Third Coin hits heads, if Sinclair has Bloodflame or he’s below 50% HP, he can reuse that Coin once. The third Coin will also deal 10% of that Coin’s final damage as bonus Wrath damage if it hits heads. While this skill is a bit less negative without reuse, it yields a lot of damage.
Skill 3 - Bloodflame Massacre - 4 Coins - Base roll 16 - Max Clash Power 32 - Max Roll 24 - This skill gains Coin Power for every 6 (Burn + Rupture) that is on the target, requiring the sum of 12 Burn and/or Rupture that is on the target. This skill will also gain 1 Clash Power for every 20% missing HP on Sinclair. This skill is an unfocused volley with an attack weight of 3, and the third Coin and fourth Coin of this skill deals bonus Gluttony damage on heads hit. He is -3 on Rupture Count for single targets.
Defensive Skill - Rooster’s Deathstrike - Base Roll 13 - Max Roll 16 - This is the only way Sinclair gets a full stack of 3 Bloodflame and guaranteed -1 on Rupture Count.
All in all, Sinclair can do some good damage, but he is very gimmicky, and cannot reliably stack Burn on himself to reduce his HP by himself. His main advantage is a lot of Coins that can activate Rupture on enemies, but that requires a build up before he enters the field, which is why he is better to be on the bench ready for substitution when Lord Hong Lu calls him.
Heishou team: in its finished form, Heishou team with Hong Lu will revolve retreats while stacking Rupture infinitely, in which case Sinclair starts to shine, but this is a high skill expression team with heavy management that can be fully executed in RR.
Burn: Since he is a free unit, he can be used in Burn to generate the much needed Gluttony resources, though on his own, he is quite mid and can be substituted with a better Burn Sinclair ID.
Tears of Tarnished Blood - a very reliable way to reduce his HP and be less negative on Count while outputting absurd numbers of both AoE and single target damage.
Lantern - On Corrosion, it can output a lot of Rupture Count and Defense Level Down, while also healing Sinclair in more dire situations.
Branch of Knowledge - A Coin flip for 12 Rupture Potency, which can significantly increase the damage for the team early on. Random, but worth what it costs.
Very good damage.
Much needed Sin resources for Rupture teams.
Very restrictive team building.
Bad early on in the fight due to Rupture Count negativity.
