Review

Supporting pawfectly our Ice Queen Alicia, Meilin is a water support that can massively increase the power of water teams while offering a lot of value even as a general support.

Her kit is centered around applying numerous buffs, including Core Attack damage boosts, increased Attack, Defense, and Critical Hit rates, as well as Damage Reduction. This versatility in buff types alongside her innate ability to heal both Hunters and Jinwoo makes her invaluable, particularly in challenging environments such as the Workshop of Brilliant Light, where her ability to remove Shields adds strategic depth.

Notably, Meilin's Weapon enhances the damage percentage of the unit with the highest Attack, with the bonus scaling based on the Weapon's advancement level. This unique feature amplifies her role as a crucial Supporter, enhancing team performance across various scenarios.

Regarding investment, Meilin's capabilities shine brightest at A1, where she optimally supports Alicia. Beyond this threshold, her advancement bonuses offer compelling benefits, making her progression a strategic consideration for those looking to maximize their team's effectiveness.

Meilin is relatively easy to build when it comes to level 55 sets, as you can either run her with: destroyer or one hit kill set on the left side, while on the right side you will most likely want Outstanding connections.

The set you will use depends on if you run her in a double support team or not - hunters that pair Meilin with Min will probably want to use the set Min is not using, while players running a mono water team will run destroyer for the increased power gain. Outstanding connection is an easy choice for the right side, given it fits Meilin's support style well.

In summary, Meilin stands out as a versatile Support unit capable of significantly boosting Water teams. Her array of buffs, Shield Removal ability, and strategic weapon enhance her value in both specialized compositions and broader team strategies, making her a valuable asset across various challenges.

If you're able to farm the Workshop of Brilliant Light, outfitting Meilin with the Burning Blessing set becomes a viable option. Both the 4/8 and 8/8 sets offer substantial power, allowing flexibility as you acquire pieces. Meilin primarily benefits from HP% focuses but also appreciates increased MP and reduced MP costs to maintain skill spamming capability without hesitation.

Pairing Meilin with Alicia is optimal; the third slot can vary between another support like Min or a Water Breaker such as Seo or Nam. Meilin's inclusion in your roster is particularly beneficial for tackling the Workshop of Brilliant Light, an endgame challenge yielding level 73/78 gear sets. This alone justifies acquiring at least one or two copies of her. Her greatest value lies in enhancing Alicia's effectiveness, especially at A1 where she can boost Alicia's Core Attack damage by 40% through her [So Cute] and [Pumped Up] buffs, significantly amplifying damage output.

It's worth noting that while Meilin excels as a Water Specialist, her benefits to Seo are more limited, providing primarily Critical Hit rate, Core Attack buffs, and increased Defense. Nonetheless, Seo remains a potent third member in Water teams, particularly due to her synergy with Burning Greed to support Alicia and enhance her own damage potential.

Should you pull?

Whether to roll for Meilin hinges on owning Alicia, as Meilin's utility is most pronounced in conjunction with her. Alicia joining the general custom draw pool has broadened accessibility. Despite this, Meilin's Shield Removal and healing capabilities make her a valuable addition to diversify your hunter options, even if alternatives like Dongsoo can also remove Shields.

Investment
  • For free-to-play players, obtaining one copy suffices, with A1 marking a significant power increase.

  • Dolphins or moderate spenders may find A2 beneficial, as it adds an extra 8% Attack/Defense to party members, doubling to 16% for Water allies.

  • Whales benefit from further advancements, enhancing Meilin's role as a general support; A3 accelerates power gauge generation, while A5 doubles [Pumped Up!] buffs, offering a 16% boost to Attack, Defense, Crit Hit rate, Core Attack damage, and Damage Reduction.

Meilin's effectiveness scales well with Weapon investment, each duplicate enhancing damage bonuses to the highest Attack unit and reducing her Ultimate cooldown. This progression solidifies her role in maximizing team synergy and performance across varied challenges.
