Transcendence is a new system introduced in the anniversary patch in KR/JPN. It increases the level cap from 125 and every 5 levels you will unlock a new passive. Big thanks to alicanli09 who gathered the information, translated it and shared it with us.
After hiding so well in the global server, Gueldre comes out as a great defensive addition to the Technique lineup.
His Skill 1 will buff the defense of the ally with the lowest HP for 2 turns.
His skill 2 will grant an ally AND Gueldre a [Barrier] based on 15% of Gueldre's Max HP. The target of the skill will also get [Protection], preventing the character to be selected as target of skills. If you have his skill page, the skill will also [Increase ALL atk] for 2 turns. Increasing his skill 2 will give an extra 4% barrier strength per skill level.
When using his Special Skill, Gueldre will grant [Fortify] buff for 2 turns. He will also grant [Invulnerability] to the ally with the lowest HP for 3 turns. Lastly, his Combined Attack has a 80% chance to inflict [Buff Prevention] on the target.
His LR passive gives him a 10% HP bonus, simple but effective.
Gueldre's role is to increase your team's survival thanks to his def buffs and numerous tools of keeping a specific ally safe, between the [Protection] buff and the [Invulnerability]. His utility is not bad but he needs to act in order to provide those buffs - while this won't be difficult given Gueldre speed is actually not bad, you can get a similar result by using Swimsuit Vanessa and she will grant [Protection] to the lowest SPD ally for 2 turns at the start of the wave. Of course, Vanessa won't bring you half the defensive utility that Gueldre can provide, but unless you plan to invest in a full sense team, you might want to save your rolls for the upcoming units. If you do get Gueldre as an offbanner, you will surely find usage for him if you are a PvP focused player!
Gueldre dupes simply provide a 10% and 20% Damage Reduction buff at E2/E5, as long as Gueldre is at 100% hp. This helps ensuring Gueldre can survive initial hits so he can start fortifying the rest of the team.
Gueldre's Skill page adds a useful [Increased ALL ATK buff to the target], but he can work nicely without it. The actual passive effect gives a 25-40% chance to remove 1/2 debuffs when attacked, useful in case he gets debuffed before he can act. For secondary skill pages, you can run Sally if you want him to be more of an offensive buffer. Alternatively, you can use High Priest's Mischief for an HP increase or SR Vanessa for added defensive buffs on the Skill 2 Target.
Gueldre is a good defensive option in Sense teams, given he can provide both [Protection] and [Invulnerability] to a priority target, if he can act fast enough. His typing helps him a lot, considering S5/6 Charlotte requires a full Sense team to apply her barrier at the start of the wave. However, that will have to wait a bit in Global, as most of his team mates aren't out yet.
If you are in KR, you can run Mereolona/Hateful Fana/Ceremony Charlotte/Gualdre for a good defensive team that can protect Fana. Swimsuit Vanessa works as well, so you can see Gueldre as a useful sidegrade.
