Pet Gems
Pet gems are a new upgrade system added to Pets. They take the form of equippable gems which confer bonus stats in addition to the innate stats of your pets. They take effect when the pets wearing said gems are added to your party.

Obtaining Gems
Gems can be obtained from Gem Boxes, which can be obtained from shops and the Brawl mode.
- Consumables Shop
- Guild Shop
- Mileage Shop

Pet Gem Slots
Each pet may equip up to 4 gems. Each pet gets a slot at T0, and additional slots are unlocked via Transcends:
- T1 - Unlocks 2nd Slot
- T3 - Unlocks 3rd Slot
- T5 - Unlocks 4th slot.

Pet Gems also come organised into several levels - Rarity, Tier and Shape.
Rarity/Tiers/Shapes
Gems come in 4 different shapes, each with a specific set bonus - Round, Square, Hexagon and Octagon. Each shape has its own set bonuses.
Similar to Equipment, gems come in several rarities - Legendary > Heroic > Rare > Uncommon > Common (or General).
Gems are further divided up into tiers within the same rarity - T3 > T2 > T1.
Gems can be upgraded via Gem Merging:
- Merging 3 gems with the same tier and rarity will give you 1 gem of a higher tier within the same rarity.
- Merging 4 T3 gems of any shape within the same rarity will give you 1 T1 random gem of a higher rarity.
- Note: 4 T1 General Gems will immediately give you a T1 gem of Uncommon Rarity.
The stats each gem confers will depend on the gem’s rarity, tier and shape.
Pet Stats
Each Gem has 3 different stats - Main Stats, Bonus Stats, and Set Effects.
Main Stats
Main Stats are basically similar to Equipment Special stats - they are stat lines which can be rerolled via Gem Faceting. This process takes Gem Chisels, which can be obtained from dailies. The amount of chisels it takes per attempt will depend on the rarity and tier of the gem.
Main Stats comprise of 2 different lines -
- Offensive Line - ATK%, Melee/Ranged/Magic ATK%, and Crit DMG%.
- Defensive Line - HP%, Critical Resistance, Status Effect Resistance, HP Recovery Rate and DEF%
Bonus Stats
Bonus stats are stats which apply if you equip a Heroic Tier or higher gem that matches the pet’s element. Set bonuses usually comprise Bonus Damage/ Damage Reduction against the element’s counter element, except for Holy, which comprises Bonus Damage/ Damage Reduction against other enemies of the Holy Type.
Set Effect
Set effects apply when equipped gems matching the pet’s element also have matching shapes with each other.
Matching sets will confer set bonus points according to the tier and rarity of the gems, which are converted to the respective set bonus points.
Set Effects depend on the gem’s shape:
- Round: +0.1% Critical Hit Chance per 4 points.
- Square: +0.1 Block Chance per 4 points.
- Hexagon: +0.14% Attack AMP per 4 points.
- Octagon: +0.14% Additional Damage per 4 points.
If you have 2 matching gems, these gems will only give 90% of those bonus stats, 95% for 3 matches + 1 unmatched, and 100% for a full match of 4.

Building your Gems
The Gem system is still fairly new and best practices are still being set up and shared. For now:
- Try to save your gem chisels until they reach at least Heroic Tier.
- Aim for ATK%/ Critical Damage on your main stat offensive line.
- Aim for HP%/ HP on your main stat defensive line.
Try to focus your gem selectors on elements containing many pets you would regularly use - you can check out our Pet Tier List to find the best pets to focus on.
It takes about 62,208 T1 Normal Rarity Gems to merge into a single Legendary T1 Gem, so expect this to be an incredibly long-term goal. Having a good set of Rares/ Heroics will give your scores an already significant increase to start with.
Try to match gems of the same shape to maximise your set bonuses.
- For the time being, ATK Amp (Hexagon), Additional Damage (Octagon) and Critical Hit Rate (Round) are all very strong set effects to aim for.
- Do not blindly auto-register your Merges after they reach Rare, as you want to get multiples of a shape for your set bonuses first.
- From there, hold on to full sets while you upgrade everything else.
Why do those stats matter?
- ATK AMP - Newly introduced alongside this system, this stat is an additional % Multiplier on top of ATK%. (Your ATK stat = Total Flat ATK x ATK% x (1 + ATK Amp%)). Being able to increase unsaturated multipliers is very powerful in general.
- Additional DMG % - This is a % multiplier on your final Damage after Damage calculations. Usually a very powerful stat, with limited sources.
- Critical Hit Chance - Any step closer to 100% for bonus Critical Amplification is helpful. Once you reach that threshold, like ATK AMP, Critical Amp is another multiplier to the top of CDMG (CDMG = Crit AMP x (100% + CDMG%)). Also minimises having to reset so often for high scores.
