Quinn is a Tank/Support hybrid that is the first character in the game with a unique DMG share mechanic - she can 'take' part of the damage that her allies would take, allowing them to survive longer on the battlefield.

Let's go over her kit.

Her Special applies a buff at the start of the battle to all allies, and it prevents each ally from dying, as once they reach 0 HP for the first time, they become immune to damage and get healed based on Quinn's HP - so it's a Cheat Death mechanic that's party-wide. Sadly, the effect doesn't apply to summons - for example, Bella's puppets - so you can't make the little nasties last longer.

Next, her Talent allows Quinn to gain stacks of Scar of Crowley whenever ally units lose HP, and once Quinn's HP drops below 50%, she can consume those stacks to heal herself, which allows her to keep herself alive. And again, similar to her Special - when any summons lose HP, they won't give the stacks to Quinn, as it only applies to characters.

Lastly, Quinn's Ultimate is a channeled effect that buffs allies (by giving them the All DMG Taken Down buff) and herself (same buff, but with a stronger effect). On top of that, Quinn will take up to 55% (at max level) of the damage taken by other units during the duration of the Ultimate while healing herself constantly. This makes the whole team tankier and allows them to survive big attacks that would otherwise bring them low (or even kill them) - this is especially useful in PVP, but it also helps a lot in PVE when pushing stages while under a big BP deficit.

Overall, Quinn is a great hybrid character that can fulfill multiple roles in the team - whether it's the tank role or a more supporting role where you focus more on her Cheat Death buff and buffs tied to her Ultimate. Thanks to the low cost of her Ultimate (only 3), you can use it early in the battle to survive the initial onslaught of enemies, and later it can come in clutch to give your team more breathing room.

Still, it's not all sunshine and rainbows.

The biggest issue with Quinn is that outside of the Ultimate, she doesn't have any DMG reduction passives like T. Ami or Friedrich (or Bella with her Puppets taking damage instead of her). Because of that, Quinn can be quite squishy, and while she can work as the 'main tank' at a lower deficit, when it increases, she's better used as a secondary tank paired with another, more suitable main tank - and her utility further cements her in this role. Also, since the Ultimate is a channelled effect, any Crowd Control will interrupt it.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Party-wide Cheat Death mechanic,

  • DMG share mechanic - she can take damage instead of her allies during her Ultimate,

  • Can further reduce the damage her allies take via the All DMG Taken Down buff,

  • Great self-healing potential via Scar of Crowley,

  • Low-cost Ultimate,

  • She can be used as a main tank or a secondary tank/support (depending on the deficit).

Cons

  • Lacks any passives or buffs that allow her to mitigate incoming damage (outside of her Ultimate),

  • Since her Ultimate is channeled, she's prone to CC (Crowd Control) - as it will fully cancel its effect,

  • Scar of Crowley stacks can be obtained only via Ultimate or when allies lose HP, so at the start of the battle, she can't really heal herself (since she starts with 0 stacks),

  • At a higher deficit, she may die too fast if you try to use her as the main tank.

Here's the explanation for all the numbers and colors used in the guide:

  • 10/5/7 means upgrading Basic to lvl 10, Special to lvl 5, and Ultimate to lvl 7,
  • Blue means the immediate investment when u get the unit (and are using them),
  • Orange means recommended investment for F2P players,
  • Red means maximum recommended investment, in order to get the best out of the unit.

More info:

  • The skill investment list below features a lot of Level 4 and 7 because they are easier to understand. Any higher levels will cost a new type of resource.
  • However, you may choose to upgrade to Level 5 if you need a stronger effect instead of 4, as the increase in Blue Manual cost from Level 4 to 5 is still low. The leap only starts from Level 6 onward.
  • There is also a leap from Level 3 to 4, so if you want to save a tiny bit of Blue Manuals, then leave at 3 instead of 4.

Priority explained:

  • Meta: Most important characters used everywhere.
  • High: Good in various PvE content.
  • Medium: Good in at least one PvE content.
  • Low: Can perform well in some PVE content, but they're niche.
  • PvP: These units are mainly used in PvP.
