Alna is an S-Level Celestial Warrior who has introduced a new era in the PvP Meta because of her unmatched utility by granting a carry Hero immunity to damage and Control Effects while simultaneously making ranged characters significantly less reliable on the field.

To understand her impact, we begin with her skill, Shared Resolve. Passively, this skill designates an ally in the same row as Alna as the 'Winter Warrior', granting them immunity to Haste reduction effects and increasing their max HP. When activated, Alna thrusts her spear to deal damage, providing a heal to both herself and the 'Winter Warrior'.

Her Ultimate, Winter Anthem, has a passive aura that decreases the Haste of every character on the field except herself and reduces their Attack Range by 2. Upon activation, Alna summons a blizzard for 8s, stripping all enemies of their Haste buffs and dealing Damage over time. Throughout the blizzard's duration, both Alna and the ‘Winter Warrior’ receive a consistent Heal over Time that lasts for 10s. She also utilizes Wild Whirl, an attack that damages enemies in an arc and reduces their Haste for 8s.

At Mythic+, she unlocks Chilling Presence, which renders Alna immune to all damage and Control Effects for 4s at the start of the battle and every 20 seconds thereafter. This duration increases to 6s once her EX Weapon is upgraded to +10. At EX +15, this immunity is extended to the ‘Winter Warrior’ as well. Furthermore, Chilling Presence will now automatically trigger once per battle for either Alna or the ‘Winter Warrior’ if their HP drops below 50%.

Upon reaching Supreme+, Alna and the ‘Winter Warrior’ receive increased stats until one of them is defeated. Additionally, the first time either Hero exits the Chilling Presence state, they freeze surrounding enemies for 2s and reduce their Vitality for 10s.

Performance in Various Game Modes

• Story and AFK Stages - As of this review, we do not have enough information to determine how truly useful Alna may be at pushing higher difficulty Apex AFK stages and will need to see her performance in future seasons. However, given her extreme tankiness, tech options against haste and ranged comps, and overall utility, we expect her to perform well.

• Dream Realm - Pretty much useless in this mode as there’s little to no value in reducing the Haste or Range of Bosses as they’re usually immune to it.

• PvP - Meta-defining character as she brings the fight to the frontlines by nerfing Ranged characters and enabling fellow Melee characters, especially Harak or any carry hero with Chilling Presence, not to mention the fact that she also hard counters Haste comps.

Investment

• Legendary+ increases Alna's Damage Reduction, which ramps up as the battle lasts.

• Mythic+ grants Alna damage and Control immunity in brief periods.

• EX+ 10 extends the duration of Chilling Presence to 6s.

• EX+ 15 applies the same immunity effects that Alna receives to the Winter Warrior.

• Supreme+ boosts both Alna and the Winter Warrior’s stats until either is defeated. Furthermore, when Chilling Presence duration ends on either Alna or the Winter Warrior, they freeze the enemies around them. 

Conclusion

Alna is primarily an incredibly strong and PvP meta-defining hero. If you are a PvP-focused player, picking up at least one copy for her base tech options is recommended, with investment to her full potential at M+ or S+ likely offering returns on the same level as Dunlingr in the long run. Outside of PvP, Alna can still be strong, but is probably not worth pulling for, especially for players focused heavily on Dream Realm, where she is the least impactful.
