Spirit Salvation

Unlocks at level 1

The Spirit can only deal 45% of its original damage while losing an increasing amount of HP every second. This skill prioritizes the weakest ally.

Unlocks at level 111: For every non-summoned enemy defeated, the ally in Spirit form restores 10% of max HP (up to 5 times for each character).

Niru is a Graveborn support that focuses on expanding his allies’ lifespans by reviving them as Spirits to keep them fighting.

His Signature ability, Soul Shepherd, targets the ally with the lowest HP. When that ally receives a fatal blow in battle, they’re instantly revived as a Spirit - restoring 45% of their HP. While in Spirit form, they only deal around 65% of their original damage and gradually lose HP. Once their HP as a Spirit runs out, they are defeated for real.

However, for each non-summoned enemy defeated, Spirits receive an additional 10% HP healing up to 5 times per character, either upon entering or while already in Spirit form.

His first skill, Soul Reaping, deals more damage to the enemy with the lowest HP based on their lost HP. At Supreme+, it denies the enemy from being healed for 8 seconds. His second skill, Spirit Devour, damages all enemies, deals bonus damage to the main target based on their max HP and heals the weakest ally by that amount. At Supreme+ Upgrade, his Normal Attack becomes Spirit Devour but only deals 75% of the skill’s original damage, essentially turning Niru from a Melee support to a backline support. If Shemira or Daimon are healed by it, their Physical and Magic DEF increases by 60% for 8 seconds.

At Mythic+, Niru automatically casts Soul Shepherd on the nearest ally, prioritizing those behind him. At EX+5, Spirit allies no longer lose HP until all remaining allies are Spirits, which is a rare scenario.

Now, for a quick overview of his performance in the various game modes:

  • Story and AFK stages - Niru is rarely used here, as other characters give better sustain and Soul Shepherd isn’t as impactful as it is on PVP scenarios.

  • Dream Realm - Niru is never used here, as Soul Reaping doesn’t work well against bosses with multiple health bars, unlike the big single health bar of Primal Lords.

  • PVP - In PVP, Niru was already used as Anti-Lily May tech before his Supreme+ skill upgrade, and his recent buff made him even more viable as he can now make Shemira and Daimon tankier while also remaining relatively safe in the backline himself. He is not used much in Non-Graveborn teams as Bryon provides higher damage output for the Anti-Lily May role if you don't need Niru's skillset.

Conclusion

Niru is mostly a PVP character, as his skills only shine when you’re focusing on supporting a character one at a time and denying healing with Soul Reaping. He is also used often with Shemira and Daimon as they benefit from his Physical and Magic DEF boost.

To start investing in Niru, aim for Mythic+ with EX+5 first to have a free revive on a nearest ally and stop Spirit allies from losing HP over time. Then prioritize Supreme+ and its Upgrade, which are key for PVP, especially with Shemira currently in the meta.

Guides

EX Investment

Since the

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
and
Twilight Essence
Twilight Essence
are very hard to obtain, you have to be really careful with the using them to upgrade the EX weapon. And in this guide we ordered all characters by the priority when it comes to how much they need investment in their EX weapon to work well and where should you stop to get the best bang for your buck.

Color explanation:

  • +X - where every character starts,
  • +X - the next step that you should do when investing into that character - for some characters this will be enough,
  • +X - the final step you should do when investing into that character - you can go beyond that later though once you have the Essences to spare.
