Margiela is a DPS that revolves around using [Nova] to deal massive AOE damage. She works really well with other crew members who can generate an [Element Core] card to be fused with [Nova], ultimately creating an elemental [Nova] upon meeting the right condition.
Margiela is a DPS focused on can do large amounts of damage while also inflicting Crowd-Control effects on enemies. She’s notable for her [Curse], [Nova] and [Shadowcraft] mechanics. Margiela relies on being paired with fellow Purple teammates or characters with [Elemental Core] to make the best use of her Ultimate and its derivative mechanics.
[Curse] is a debuff that prevents enemies from regenerating HP. Particularly useful in high-end content with certain bosses and waves of enemies that have healers in the backline.
[Nova] is a versatile card that can be used by itself or fused with [Element Cores] to create a ‘flavored’ [Nova] of that respective Element. Margiela generates them through her Ultimate, which is why she’s often the team Leader of most early teams she’s in. (This changes down the road when more [Shadowcraft] characters are introduced, but she stays relevant for those teams, only changing her position). All versions of Nova can inflict [Corrupt], lowering the target’s DEF by 30%. Having 3 [Nova] cards in your hand fuses them into a [Supernova], a massive AoE that deals damage of all elements to all targets and inflicts several negative statuses.
[Shadowcraft] Also generated by Margiela’s ultimate, Shadowcraft is another powerful AoE by itself, that stacks up to 13 times. Once it has been played 13 times, it will summon a Blood Demonlord, who attacks all enemies at once. (Don’t show this to your religious aunt)
Like most SSR characters, A1 and A2 are Margiela’s best cost-benefit. While she works fine without dupes, if you wish to invest in [Shadowcraft] teams later, her Awakening 2 is highly recommended.
Awakening 1 — Makes Margiela significantly stronger as the fight goes on, as well as reducing the cooldown of naturally generated cards.
Awakening 2 — Enables a 50% chance of generating a [Shadowcraft] card every time Margiela uses one of her own cards, thus significantly speeding up the process of summoning Blood Demonlord.
Awakening 4 — Restores a 0.5 Cost whenever [Nova] is generated. Rather insignificant.
Awakening 5 — The biggest gain here is the immunity to [Fetter] and [Imprison], which can be a nuisance by locking your cards and disrupting Margiela’s flow. However, enemies who use that often are rather rare.
Resonance 1 — Margiela’s bread and butter, which allows her to generate her Derivative cards after using her Ultimate.
Resonance 2 — Allows Margiela to heal the ally with the lowest HP by 50% of the damage dealt every time she uses her card [Drain]. While this isn’t enough to fully replace a healer, it’s still a nice piece of utility.
Resonance 4 — Allows [Forbidden Fruit] to draw a card after use. This is particularly effective if you have Margiela at A2, as it can significantly speed up the stacking of [Shadowcraft].
Resonance 5 — Minor utility, it adds a stackable ATK buff to Margiela’s healing. Despite being minor, its value becomes increasingly higher in the long run as Margiela is joined by more [Shadowcraft] teammates.

Margiela can be paired with two types of characters: the ones who have lots of Purple cards, and/or the ones who can generate [Nova] or [Element Cores]. If you have her at A2, a good shuffler like Nayuta can make a difference by allowing her to spam her cards more often.
Arina - Margiela and Arina complement each other. While Arina’s spam of purple cards speeds up Margiela’s spam of her Ultimate, Margiela’s constant use of [Confuse] helps refresh the Crowd-Control that Arina also applies, rendering enemies helpless.
Stella - With a high amount of Purple cards and Draw with 0 cost that prioritizes Purple cards, Stella is a great match to speed up Margiela’s cycling.
Valentine - Can trigger Margiela’s Ultimate more times, as well as generate an [Element Core: Fire].
Achiha - A frontline who can also generate [Element Core: Fire].
Wensheng - Can consistently generate [Element Core: Frost].
Livia - Livia and Margiela can help each other by collecting [Strange Spark].
Suen: Suen’s [Restless] buff can significantly increase Margiela’s output, on top of coming from a Purple card. She can also act as the team’s healer.
Fenia: Fenia’s [Bag of Tricks] is a great tool to speed up Margiela’s card cycling thanks to its Cost Recovery + Draw.
Massive AoE damage dealer, and probably the strongest one at the release of the game.
If you can build a deck around generating [Elemental Cores], her damage potential skyrockets.
Requires allies to generate [Elemental Cores] to reach full potential, limiting team flexibility.
Not auto-friendly, since you have to properly set up your cards to create [Supernova], making her quite inconsistent if you don't configure your deck.
