RC-77 is a Debuffer with a heavy focus on multi-hit abilities, with the extra gimmick of having his Skills apply different effects at the different damage instances of his attacks.

His S1 is a simple but effective single-target attack that has a good chance of granting him [ACC+]. This is a rare buff that adds a fixed amount of EFF ACC to your attacks, helping RC-77 reach the upper ceiling of his Debuffs’ proc chances, while countering enemy Resist if they’ve got any.

His S2 hits one enemy 4 times, with the first 3 hits having a low-ish chance at decreasing the turn meter by 25% each time, and the 4th hit has this time a good chance to increase the duration of the Debuffs present on the enemy by 1 turn.

His S3 is an AOE attack that targets all the enemies, and the main target receives one extra hit at the beginning of the attack, with a good chance of being stunned from it. The following 3 hits each have a good chance of applying both [ATK-] and [DEF-], a fairly basic combo of Debuffs that are never unwelcome.

In PVE, RC-77 has access to valuable Debuffs; however, his long CDs without Skill levels hold him back a bit, and unfortunately, there are much stronger Debuffs to be applied like [SPD-], which means he is hardly ever played as the sole Debuffer in the party. Still, in content where constantly outspeeding the enemies is not crucial, RC-77 can find a spot for himself within the current environment, despite the already exceptional Debuffers that clutter the top of the meta.

In PVP, RC-77 is a situational pick, highly dependent on the meta. Featuring one of the highest base SPD and multi-hit skills, both AoE and ST, RC-77 shines in the Revelation meta where his debuffs can be either mostly ignored in favor of focusing on extreme firepower, or used as a form of ST hard CC/push back to give time for the rest of your Damage dealers to take their turn.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Lots of Debuffs available with good chances to land each of them.

  • One of the fastest Animus in the game on launch.

  • Can abuse Revelation shell very effectively.

Cons

  • Needs Skill levels to really feel the power of his kit.

  • Stun doesn’t work on any difficult boss.

  • Immunity fully counters him, and Cleanse easily halves the power of his skills.

Best Build

The builds below are tailored more toward PVE and we only mention PVP in some places - like for alternative Shells or Module choices. But PVE is our focus.

Best Shells

1

Before the owner acts, unleashes the owner Animus' full potential making their next skill cost no CD and increasing their SPD by an additional 10% for 2 turn(s). In PvP modes, after being affected by Codex of Magic, skills that did not go on cooldown will have their maximum cooldown permanently increased by 1 turn. (a single skill can only be affected once by this increase).

The cooldown of the skill can't be reduced.

An absurdly strong combo Shell that allows the wearer to skip the cooldown of the ability used on the turn this Shell is active. The wearer can use their ultimate or skill twice back to back, unlocking usually impossible personal and team combos. Also grants the wearer a 10% SPD boost after use for 2 turns. Mainly used in PvE burst/combo compositions or PVP. Can be used on both Supports and DPS situationally.

Generic 2x skill spamming. Allows RC77 to cycle his debuffs sooner, or to apply them if you missed during the first cast.

Before the owner takes action, deals 2 hit(s) of 100% +2500 damage to the target with the highest ATK and extends the duration of non-control debuffs inflicted by the owner this turn by 1 turn(s) (excluding [DoT]), then increases the owner Animus's Effect ACC by 100% in the current turn.

A strong supportive option for debuff-focused characters. On use, the Shell grants 50% Effect ACC and causes any non-control and non-DoT debuffs applied during the turn it's activated to be extended by one turn. This shell also deals a non-negligible amount of damage with its 2 hits on use. A top choice for any character looking to improve uptime and accuracy for their debuffs.

An interesting option to prolong his S3 Debuffs.

After the main body's turn, a Follow-up Attack on the main target dealing 240%+4200 damage, applies [SPD+] for 3 turns to the main Animus, applies and increases their Turn Meter by 25%.

Widely used and incredibly potent all-around supportive option, granting a 25% gauge boost on use as well as [SPD+] boost with 100% uptime. It also deals decent damage when used. Possesses most of the best supportive matrixes, further adding to its flexibility and wide use cases. Loses most of its value when used in teams that already have a team member granting the [SPD+] buff with good uptime.

A Support Build - Allows them to cycle their skills faster due to the Speed buff, as well as nice extra damage from the extra Attack it provides.

PVP Setup

Below you can find some alternative setups you can use, but only in PVP.

1

Before the main body acts, causes the main Animus to deal additional true indirect damage equal to 12% of the target's max HP with each critical hit during this turn (damage per hit cannot exceed 180% of own ATK). In PVP mode, this will be affected by Etherena Effect - Guardian Field, reducing damage by 30%.

Grants the wearer a buff for one turn on use. While the buff is active, each individual hit of damage dealt by the wearer that critically strikes will cause the target to suffer 12% of their HP as true damage (up to 180% of the wearer's ATK per individual hit). This damage cannot be increased outside of scaling ATK and cannot critically strike itself. Strongest on characters that hit multiple times with abilities, and even stronger in AoE scenarios with multi-hitting abilities. An ability that hits 4 times and hits all enemies (5) can lead to 20 Revelation activations.

Revelation RC77 has fallen a bit out of favor since his Awakening, but it is still a pretty solid build if you are firmly in the Turn 1 camp.

Jackal Guard's tanky setup is the usual way to build RC-77 at the moment, played in the so-called Debuff Soup comps that don't fully utilize CC but instead Weaken the enemies massively with debuffs, which in turn lets the enemies sometimes hit you, resulting in the need for building Bloodbath and tankiness to live the inevitable 1 or 2 retaliatory hits.

Stat comments (PVE)

RC-77 has a really good and interesting combination of debuffs, with his S3 being able to debuff with both ATK and DEF Down, but in the end, he is still not as good as the other DEF Breakers in this game.

  • Main Stats:
    • Effect ACC: It is his most important stat since all his Skills need it.
    • SPD: Just have enough to have him play before your DPS.
  • Conditional Stats:
    • HP% & DEF%: It can use some if u are having trouble surviving.
Stat comments (PVP)

The only way RC is used in PvP currently is as a Revelation Cleaver. With the recent buff to his Skill 3 cooldown, he can now perfectly cycle Skill 3 to match Revelation's CD.

  • Main Stats:
    • SPD: Revelation Cleavers need to be really fast to move before the enemy and to not get cut by the enemy's Turn Meter Push.
    • CRIT Rate: Necessary for 100% Crit Rate builds with Revelation. The highest priority after Speed is to make the damage consistent.
    • ATK: Scales Revelation damage super high and lets you get more damage from the shell.
  • Jackal Version:
    • SPD: Still the most important stat, get as much as you can, but you want to line him up in your turn ordering correctly, so match him usually after your main stripper like Plume or similar.
    • Effect ACC: Get about 120% and call it a day.
    • HP%/DEF%: Go full prio on tank stats once you reach the eff acc you like.
  • Conditional Stats:
    • Crit DMG: Since we are building 100% Crit Rate it is nice to have some extra Crit Damage but most of the damage will be coming from the Shell not your abilities.
Shell Passives
Slot 1
HP% > HP > DEF% > DEF
Slot 2
SPD > Effect ACC
Slot 3
Effect ACC (Gaze) > Effect ACC (Insight) > DMG Taken
Passive comments
  • Slot 1: HP% is optimal, but if you're lacking in materials Flat HP can also be used. If you get DEF% or DEF of higher rarity, keep it though for now.
  • Slot 2: Speed is better in most situations, but if you roll Effect ACC you can keep it for some time.
  • Slot 3: The stacking Effect ACC buff granted by Gaze is great and it becomes better the longer the fight lasts. Though, if you're running one-shot teams (or PVP a lot), you can consider using Insight instead as the fights are shorter and it gives you better boost initially.
Skill Priority
Skill Priority
S3 > S2 > S1
Comments

For PVE

  • S3: His S3 skill is kinda good and investing in it is not a bad plan if u plan on using him.
  • S2: It is not a bad choice to invest in it too if u plan on using him, but not a priority.
  • S1: Go for it if u want more SPD.

For PVP

  • He needs Skill 3 maxed in order to line up with Revelation and let him cycle most of his best damage.
  • Skill 1 is the next best to invest in because of the Speed.
  • Last to level is Skill 2 due to not really using it much, but still useful for when Skill 3 is on CD.
