Perlica Review

Kit Intro

Perlica is a 5-star, Electric, Arts Unit support damage dealer who specializes in forcibly applying Electrification without the need to consume any Arts Inflictions or spend any SP thanks to her Combo Skill. Said Combo Skill is also exceptionally easy to trigger, only requiring the controlled operator to land a Final Strike. This, combined with the fact that the Electrification she applies causes enemies to take extra Arts damage from all major elements except Physical, means it’s always viable to slot Perlica into any Arts damage-based team as long as you time her Combo Skill to trigger right before the team's major burst damage.

On top of her flexible Combo Skill, Perlica also has solid damage output herself thanks to a combination of good multipliers across her main skills. Another point of versatility is her ability to play into either Arts reactions or Electric burst with the Electric Infliction of her Battle Skill. You can choose to invest SP into her, or not; either option is viable depending on the team's requirements.

Last but not least, Perlica gains a large boost to her supportive capabilities due to her weapon type being Arts Units. There are multiple very strong options Perlica can use to buff herself or the team, further solidifying her value as either a sub DPS or capable supporter of the compositions she plays within.

Combo

Perlica’s Combo Skill is the cornerstone of her kit and a large part of the reason to bring her to many teams. It has a decently long cooldown but only requires the controlled operator to perform a Final Strike on an enemy to trigger, which is very easy to fulfill. Using the Combo skill deals Electric damage, some Stagger, and forcibly applies Electrification to the target while ignoring all Arts Inflictions present on the enemy. At base, the forced Electrification has the effect of a 1 Infliction Electrification, but with a much shorter duration of 5 seconds. The forced Electrification also does not deal any direct damage.

Note: Because the Combo Skill ignores other Inflictions and reactions on the enemy, Perlica can use it without interrupting mono-element teams that would otherwise not be able to access the reaction consistently.

Tip: Despite being forcibly applied, Art's Intensity still affects the Infliction from Perlica’s Combo Skill, improving the stats value in teams that value the damage taken of this debuff highly.

Battle Skill

Perlica’s Battle Skill is less universally useful in most teams, but still worth considering in others, depending on the Inflictions or reactions you’re after. Using it requires the usual 100 SP, deals some Electric damage, Stagger, and applies Electric Infliction to enemies hit. When building Perlica around Arts Intensity to maximize her Electrification debuff, the up-front damage this Battle Skill can deal through Arts burst and reactions can become quite significant in some teams, making it more valuable than it may appear at first glance.

Ultimate

Perlica’s Ultimate is as simple as abilities come; it costs 80 to use, deals a high multiplier hit of Electric damage in an area, and some Stagger. Usually best when saved to be used during enemy Stagger windows to take advantage of one of Perlica’s talents — it should also be aligned to hit while the enemy is suffering from Electrification to increase its damage. The only other nuance to using this ability is the fact that using it can trigger some Arts Units' passives, some of which buff the team, so you may want to align it before other high-burst abilities.

Talents

Perlica’s talents aren’t transformational but can yield some nice bonuses. The first, Obliteration Protocol, is the more generic of the two and increases damage dealt to Staggered enemies by +30%, which is the same stat as DMG% vs Staggered, and stacks additively with stats like Electric DMG%. This is a nice boost that encourages the use of large abilities like Perlica’s Ultimate during Stagger windows.

Perlica’s other talent, Cycle Protocol, causes her Combo Skill to chain to another enemy when used against an enemy with Vulnerable on them. This chain allows her to hit and afflict two enemies with her combo instead of the usual one. Perlica can sometimes find herself in teams with Vulnerability stacks, but it’s definitely not common, as those teams are usually focused around Physical damage, which Perlica isn’t able to synergize well with. Because of that, this talent is on the more niche side.

Gameplay

Perlica’s gameplay changes depending on the team you’re playing her in, but here are some general guidelines you can follow and work around as a base:

  • Time Perlica’s Combo Skill for before high damage scenarios in teams that bring her for her Electrification debuff.

  • Use Perlica’s Ultimate while Electrification is applied and ideally during Stagger. When using an Arts Unit that buffs the team after activating Ultimate, align its use to be before allies' major burst abilities, but still during Electrification.

  • Manage Perlica’s Combo Skill cooldown so you don’t lose out on activations by holding it unnecessarily, but also ensure you don’t use it too early that expires before you deal the majority of your damage.

  • If your team requires Electric Infliction, use Perlica’s Battle Skill as needed.

Tip: In teams that use Electrification for other purposes, like Arts reaction consumption teams, including characters like Arclight or Wulfgard, you can be more liberal with deploying Perlica’s Combo Skill to maximize total consumptions in a fight.

Perlica Best Weapons

Perlica best Weapons are placed in order of what fits their playstyle the most. Check the comments to get additional context.

1

Stat 1 Boost - 9/9

Intellect: +124

Stat 2 Boost - 9/9

Attack: +31.20%

Passive Boost - 9/9

Max HP: +28.00%

After the wielder casts an Ultimate, Operators whose elements differ from the wielder gain ATK +22.4% for 20s. Effects of the same name cannot stack.

Best general support weapon in non-Electric teams, Stanza has reasonable passive stats for Perlica, but more importantly it grants all non-Electric operator a sizable ATK increase after Perlica uses her Ultimate. With this weapon, aim to use Perlica's Ultimate before your main burst window.

2

Stat 1 Boost - 9/9

Main Attribute: +132

Stat 2 Boost - 9/9

Arts Intensity: +78

Passive Boost - 4/9

Sec. Attribute: +16.00%

After the wielder applies an Arts Burst, target enemy suffers Arts DMG taken +14.4% for 15s. Effects of the same name cannot stack.

As Stanza does not work with Electric operators, Detonation Unit is a strong support option in Electric teams assuming you can trigger Electric Bursts with Perlica's Battle Skill. When doing so it will apply a strong Arts DMG Taken debuff. Outside of its team capabilities, the offensive passives are fairly underwhelming for Perlica.

3

Stat 1 Boost - 9/9

Intellect: +124

Stat 2 Boost - 9/9

Electric DMG Bonus: +34.70%

Passive Boost - 9/9

Arts Intensity: +28

After the wielder applies Electrification, the team gains Physical DMG dealt and Electric DMG dealt +22.4% for 15s. Effects of the same name cannot stack.

Another supportive option for Perlica with a passive dedicated to buffing Electric and Physical teams everytime Perlica uses her Combo Skill which can be easily maintained. The damage bonus from this weapon is the least potent of the buffs available on her weapons, but the excellent passive stats and ease of access makes it worth considering.

Specialist Weapon Options
1

Stat 1 Boost - 9/9

Intellect: +156

Stat 2 Boost - 9/9

Arts DMG Bonus: +43.30%

Passive Boost - 4/9

Critical Rate: +8.00%

After the wielder casts an Ultimate, the wielder gains Arts DMG dealt +38.4% for 15s. After the wielder casts a Combo Skill, the wielder gains Arts DMG dealt +19.2% for 15s. The two effects apply separately and do not stack with themselves.

When using Perlica as a damage dealer, Oblivion is her best thanks to its solid passive stats and its outstanding Weapon Effect, which grants Perlica a huge amount of Arts DMG% when using her Ultimate or Combo Skill.

Perlica Best Gear Set

Perlica best sets are placed in order of what fits their playstyle the most. Check the comments to get additional context.

Arts Intensity +30. When the wearer applies Electrification, Electric DMG +50% for 10s. When the wearer applies Solidification, Cryo DMG +50% for 10s. The aforementioned effects cannot stack.

Description

Maximizing Perlica's Arts Intensity is the best way to boost her supportive capabilities among the available 3P set bonuses. Because of this, Pulser Labs is usually the best choice for her. Its gear pieces are also ideal for her playstyle, having the right stats as well as a lot of Arts Intensity. Last but not least its 3P active bonus grants her a large amount of personal damage as well.

Perlica Dupes Calculations / Review

P1
Combo skill Instant Protocol: Chain improved: Electrification duration +75%.

Increases the duration of Perlica’s Combo Skill Electrification by 75%, upgrading its length from 5 seconds to almost 9 seconds. This potential is a huge upgrade to Perlica’s supportive potential, almost doubling the duration of one of her most impactful abilities. In teams where you aren’t triggering proper Electrification reactions with Electric Infliction, this potential is close to a must-have.

P2
Ultimate Protocol ε: 70.41K improved: Ultimate Energy cost -15%.

Reduces Perlica’s Ultimate Cost by -15%, taking it from 80 energy to 6,8 improving accessibility, leading to higher total damage output and more chances at activating weapons that trigger off of Ultimate use.

P3
After Perlica applies Electrification to the enemy, she gains ATK +20% for 5s. This effect can reach 2 stacks.

After Perlica applies Electrification, she gains a +20% attack boost for 5 seconds, stacking up to 2 times. This Ability is most likely to trigger off of her combo with two stacks accessible when it chains after hitting Vulnerable enemies. Maintaining this buff long term or even reaching 2 stacks at all isn’t realistic for Perlica in most teams, but when played around correctly, you should have it for most Perlica Ultimates, as you should be aligning Electrification and her Ultimate alongside the rest of your team's burst damage, preferably during Stagger.

P4
Combo skill Instant Protocol: Chain improved: The Arts DMG Taken debuff effects on the enemy applied by the skill's >lectrification are increased to 1.33 times the original.

The wording or effect on Perlica’s Potential 4 is currently incorrect - which it is, we’re not sure. What the potential actually does is upgrade the force Electrification from using a 1 Infliction Electrification as a base to a 2 Infliction instead. This elevates the damage taken debuff from 12% (before Arts intensity) to 16%. The duration of the Electrification does not change from this potential compared to P1.

P5
Ultimate Protocol ε: 70.41K improved: Critical Rate +30%.

Increases the Crit Rate of Perlica’s Ultimate by +30%. This, with 50% Crit Damage, is equivalent to a 15% total increase to Perlica’s Ultimate damage. Not a bad damage boost, but not a game-changer, and doesn’t improve her supportive capabilities at all.

Teams and Synergies

Perlica Best Synergies

  • Perlica has outstanding supportive weapon choices
  • Can apply Electrification for free with Combo skill, which is easily timed to align with Last Rite's Ultimate and Combo skill, increasing damage taken by the target signifcantly
  • Solid sub DPS potential, contributing a bit of damage of her own
  • Works well alongside other buffers who cover other buff categories, such as Amp, DMG%, and ATK%, as Perlica's Damage Taken is in a different multiplier group
  • Applies Electrification for free with her Combo skill, triggering Arclight's Combo skill once. Electrification can then be consumed by her Battle Skill, which triggers her Combo again, positioning Perlica as a free activator for Arclight
  • Perlica has outstanding supportive weapon choices, which nicely buff Arclight and the rest of the team
  • Arclight's own supportive weapon and sets buff Perlica back, allowing the two to buff each other in order to both deal more damage
  • Arclight consumes minimal SP herself and generates some back, freeing it up in some teams for Perlica to use on her Battle Skill to gain more damage
  • Applies Electrication with Combo Skill for free, which Wulfgard can consume with his Battle Skill to deal additional damage
  • Perlica has outstanding supportive weapon choices
  • Combining Electric infliction from Perlica's battle skill and heat from Wulfgard forms natural reactions of either Combustion or Electrication - both of which Wulf can consume, giving him a continual source of damage that is only limited by SP

With a full Electric team, and especially with Arclight present, getting 8 Battle Skills over the course of a full rotation is doable. This is due to the SP recovery when consuming Electrification from Arclight, as well as Antal's low SP requirements.

The gist of the team is to maintain Electric Inflictions and use most Combo Skills on cooldown, consuming Electrification with Arclight to sustain Ultimate Energy generation. Depending on the weapon, look to align Antal's Combo Skill with stagger to trigger Arts Burst effects.

Opening rotation

Final Strike

From this point on, continue to loop Final Strikes, making sure to use Avywenna and Perlica's Combo Skills on cooldown, with Arclight's Combo Skill and Battle Skills whenever Electrification is applied.

Burst Rotation

Final Strike (Staggers)

The above list is in order of skills hitting. Ideally many of these are cast before (e.g. Arclight Battle Skill is cast before the Final Strike connects, but it only lands and consumes Electrification shortly after).

Extra things to look out for
  • This is also an SP friendly version, which gives up on an Arclight Combo Skill. If SP allows, then shift the rotation to happen earlier, with the addition of a Perlica Battle Skill after Arclight's Ultimate applies Forced Electrification and having the Final Strike that staggers and triggers Avywenna's and Perlica's Combo Skills happening after Arclight's Battle and Combo Skill.
  • The point being that then there isn't a need to hold back on using Arclight's Battle Skill, as Avywenna's Combo Skill would be triggered by the Electric Infliction applied by Perlica as opposed to the Ultimate's forced Electrification. This would lead to a Combo Skill trigger both from Arclight's Battle Skill and Perlica's Combo Skill, instead of just one as is the case above. Antal's Combo Skill can also be delayed to do this with no SP consumption, but this would mean giving up on an Arts Burst for weapon set triggers.
  • Note that the "Final Strike" here does not indicate that it is the only Final Strike, as depending on where you are in Basic Attack strings, it's likely that a Final Strike may occur between Arclight's Ultimate and the one indicated.
  • It's fine if not every Electrification is consumed by Arclight's Battle Skill, as SP economy may not allow for it. So long as there are enough Battle Skills being used to fuel Avywenna's Ultimate (and there is SP left for her own Battle Skill), it's enough.
  • Shifting the Finisher to the start of the stagger period can work too, as the SP recovery it provides could sustain additional Battle Skill casts to give more Ultimate Energy if required.

Arts Unit Operators have access to some of the strongest supportive weapons in the game, so running 3 of them in a team is not only viable, it can be an optimal set-up for certain types of speedrun kills. Perlica in particular distinguishes herself by being able to provide strong buffs via her Electrification when built for Arts Intensity (which gets far stronger at P4+) and working as a Stanza wielder in the comp,

This team can struggle in 0 Ultimate Energy start encounters, with no SP efficient way to build Inflictions outside of Gilberta's Ultimate, but for full Ultimate Energy starts or multi-phase bosses that allow one to stockpile resources (such as Marble Aggelomorai), it can be one of the most competitive burst options.

Even then, the team still does well when properly aligning skills. On the lead-up to Yvonne's Ultimate, it's possible to use Perlica's Combo Skill alongside Gilberta's to get both full Electrification and Solidification uptime for the entire burst. It may take time for resources to align, but once they do

A rotation, assuming full Ultimate Energy start, would be:

Rotation

Final Strike

Final Strike

Gilberta's Ultimate should apply Corrosion from Xaihi Combo's Cryo Infliction, which when stacked with the multitude of Arts Units buffs and Perlica's Electrification makes for some grotesque damage numbers.

If at 0 Ultimate Energy starts, once resources have been built-up (i.e. there is a Cryo or Nature Infliction, Ultimate Energy and ideally the enemy is about to stagger):

Rotation

Final Strike

Perlica Battle Skill is required for Corrosion from Gilberta's Ultimate, but otherwise can be skipped if the damage isn't needed and faster cycling/SP is more valuable, as Gilberta's Nature Infliction can be used to speed up subsequent rotations. Perlica's Ultimate can be used earlier to get more benefit out of Stanza, but it will cause her to lose personal damage due to landing outside of Gilberta's Ultimate.
