Team Tier List - Introduction

Arknights: Endfield is a game where team building matters immensely, but at the same time, one where many units are usable only within a single element or team archetype. As a result, rating characters strictly on how they perform within a given category may not give the full picture. So as of release, there are two tier lists: general tier list and team tier list. The team tier list you can find on this page by scrolling down, but if you're looking for the general tier list, go here:

Team Tier List - Information

About the team tier list

Our Arknights: Endfield team tier list ranks the performance of full team compositions relative to one another, factoring in their peak potential in endgame content. For the story and the lower difficulties of permanent game modes, there is no need to be concerned with ratings and tier placements. Players should be able to comfortably clear such types of content so long as a team is built and played correctly.

Based on play within the most recent beta and public information pertaining to 1.0, the current hardest content in the game is Umbral Monument. This is the game mode that the criteria and tier lists are constructed around for the time being.

It’s important to note that in the beta, this mode only required a single team to complete and wasn’t challenging to achieve maximum rewards. We expect harder content to release eventually, be it through more difficult Umbral Monument stages or the addition of another game mode. As the game evolves and player priorities shift, we may adjust our criteria and tier list placements.

Ratings

The team tier list has no categories and instead rates full teams. The team tier list aims to cover teams from two angles:

  • Ensuring all meta-relevant teams are ranked.
  • To include as many viable team archetypes that encompass as much of the cast as possible.

Given that a team may have multiple characters that can fill a slot, all variations are listed where applicable. When assessing the power of a team for a tier placement, only the best character combinations are considered. Team placements on the tier list are determined by their overall efficacy across encounters in Umbral Monument, with higher teams being more capable of consistently clearing faster than lower-ranked teams.

The characters listed aren’t the only synergies and compositions playable for a team, but are the ones capable of outputting the most damage - meaning lower-tier units and Survivalists are less likely to appear.

Now that Endfield has been out for almost 2 weeks and millions of players have had a chance to sink their teeth into 1.0, many new team compositions and optimizations for characters have been found. This, in addition to a few balance changes that Hypergryph slipped in at the last second have all led to assessments of characters within the game's very early meta shifting. Based on that, and now that things have settled somewhat with people reaching max level, characters were updating both tier lists.

We’ve added a lot more synergies to teams on the team tier list based on what people are finding success with. Umbral Monument isn’t out on live servers yet, so we may further adjust some of these picks in upcoming updates as what’s best is honed in on, but for now, we feel showing as many possible ways to play the top teams is most helpful. In addition to this, we’ve also added Yvonne’s team and Physical Sustainless to the list.

  • Yvonne Hyper: Based on current testing, theorycrafting, and calculations, the 1.0 reworked Yvonne isn’t currently performing at the same level as Last Rite for most players. Because of this, and the fact that both characters share a very similar niche of Infliction ramping and single-target damage, we're starting Yvonne off a tier below Last Rite. However, we’re also watch-listing her. Most players haven’t had a chance to play with Yvonne yet, as this version of her wasn’t available for testing in beta. She also hasn’t been tried in Umbral Monument either, so it’s possible new comps, rotations, encounter design, or energy breakpoints could elevate her performance.
  • Physical Sustainless: It’s possible to play Physical teams without a sustain instead focusing on maximizing resource generation in order to take advantage of being able to establish Breach at the same time as landing Crush for large damage spikes - something teams with Ardelia struggle to achieve consistently. When playing Physical this way, more damage is available, but at the cost of riskier, more demanding gameplay. You’ll have to align Vulnerability stacks correctly, and work around a lack of healing to have this team work - something which certain encounters can make quite difficult.
