Heinrich is going to be one of the most useful and versatile characters on your account - if you manage to get him that is. He can be used in every single PVE mode, thanks to his [Disorder] element - which combined with his dispel, makes him a great pick, especially against Aurora and Terrormaton.

Heinrich’s kit revolves around blocking and dispelling buffs from the enemies with his attacks, and applying the debuff [Last Words] once there are no buffs on the enemy. That debuff is pretty unique as it acts as a DMG Taken multiplier whenever an enemy receives a critical hit, and on top of that, it boosts the Crit Rate of the attackers. So not only does he make it easier for enemies to be critically hit, but he also boosts the damage after. On top of that, with enough time to stack, the [Last Words] debuff will give a massive CRIT DMG increase on his ultimate.

When it comes to building Heinrich, you can play him either as a pure debuffer - and that makes him easy to build - or switch more into a hybrid build that improves his damage output at the cost of consistency in landing his debuffs. But keep in mind, this will require much better gear to pull off, so early on, just use him as a debuffer/dispeller.

Heinrich can be used with success in PVP too - his dispel will get rid of the pesky Immunity (and other buffs), allowing the rest of your team to easily deal with the enemies.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Rare team-wide debuffs (Buff block and Heal block),

  • Easy access to dispel as it's tied to his 'passive', not a specific skill,

  • Type neutral in PVE, so you can bring him to any content,

  • Decent damage output if you decide to build him more as a hybrid DPS/Debuffer.

Cons

  • None.

Best Build

The builds below are tailored more toward PVE and we only mention PVP in some places - like for alternative Shells or Module choices. But PVE is our focus.

Best Shells

For some DPS characters, we're showing two set of numbers. The top one on shows the performance in single-target scenario and the bottom on blue background in AoE scenario (4 targets). If there's just one number, it means the character only has single-target capability.

After the main body's turn, a Follow-up Attack on the main target dealing 240%+4200 damage, applies [SPD+] for 3 turns to the main Animus, applies and increases their Turn Meter by 25%.

A speed-based alternative for DPS characters to use instead of the mostly pure damage setups offered by Striker shells. Deals a large hit of damage, grants a 25% gauge boost, and offers the wearer the [SPD+] boost with 100% uptime on use. The downside of using this shell on DPS is that the matrixes are mostly support-focused, leading to suboptimal 12/8/6 set-ups or causing you to break sets and run 12P Swiftrush and an 8P set of your choice. Despite this downside, it can still be some characters’ top option. As with all speed-based sets on DPS, in teams that have gauge boosts for the DPS, it will lose value. Also, loses most of its value when used in teams that already have a team member granting the [SPD+] buff with good uptime.

Jackel Guard is his generic best-in-slot Shell due to its versatility in multiple PvE scenarios with the extra speed and damage, as well as a good set of module options.

Before the owner acts, unleashes the owner Animus' full potential making their next skill cost no CD and increasing their SPD by an additional 10% for 2 turn(s). In PvP modes, after being affected by Codex of Magic, skills that did not go on cooldown will have their maximum cooldown permanently increased by 1 turn. (a single skill can only be affected once by this increase).

The cooldown of the skill can't be reduced.

An absurdly strong combo Shell that allows the wearer to skip the cooldown of the ability used on the turn this Shell is active. The wearer can use their ultimate or skill twice back to back, unlocking usually impossible personal and team combos. Also grants the wearer a 10% SPD boost after use for 2 turns. Mainly used in PvE burst/combo compositions or PVP. Can be used on both Supports and DPS situationally.

Codex is his best-in-slot shell for fast runs that can utilize his double strip/application of Last Words. The added safety of having 2 strips back to back is nice espcially if you miss the first strip on turn 1.

Before the owner takes action, deals 2 hit(s) of 100% +2500 damage to the target with the highest ATK and extends the duration of non-control debuffs inflicted by the owner this turn by 1 turn(s) (excluding [DoT]), then increases the owner Animus's Effect ACC by 100% in the current turn.

A strong supportive option for debuff-focused characters. On use, the Shell grants 50% Effect ACC and causes any non-control and non-DoT debuffs applied during the turn it's activated to be extended by one turn. This shell also deals a non-negligible amount of damage with its 2 hits on use. A top choice for any character looking to improve uptime and accuracy for their debuffs.

Dark Moon is another option for faster runs, but generally is not recommended over Jackal or Codex due to it acting before Heinrich is able to strip. Usually, Heinrich is brought into Bosses or modes where the Boss has some form of Immunity, so the Dark Moon is effectively wasted.

Heinrich's best-in-slot Shell. Let's you get more turns of Block and strip if your first one missed. Gets both Speed sets for good Speed contest options.

Before the main body acts, causes the main Animus to deal additional true indirect damage equal to 12% of the target's max HP with each critical hit during this turn (damage per hit cannot exceed 180% of own ATK). In PVP mode, this will be affected by Etherena Effect - Guardian Field, reducing damage by 30%.

Grants the wearer a buff for one turn on use. While the buff is active, each individual hit of damage dealt by the wearer that critically strikes will cause the target to suffer 12% of their HP as true damage (up to 180% of the wearer's ATK per individual hit). This damage cannot be increased outside of scaling ATK and cannot critically strike itself. Strongest on characters that hit multiple times with abilities, and even stronger in AoE scenarios with multi-hitting abilities. An ability that hits 4 times and hits all enemies (5) can lead to 20 Revelation activations.

Good option for those who want DPS Heinrich or some more damage to complement a potential Cleave playstyle. This style is way harder to gear due to the requirements of Speed, Crit Rate, Attack and Accuracy to be useful.

Stat comments

In PvE, Heinrich is built as a primary buff stripper in addition to landing his Last Words debuff to increase the Crit Damage of your team.

  • SPD: Heinrich's most important stat across all builds is speed. In order to be useful in PvE, his Speed tuning needs to be considered on a team-by-team basis.
  • Effect ACC: Once you get him Speed-tuned, you need to focus on Effect Accuracy next for his debuff/strip build.
  • Conditional Stats:
    • HP/ATK/DEF: The rest of the stats are up to you, but some good stats to consider are more Attack stats for faster runs or more Tank stats for safer runs, where you might not need the extra damage.
Stat comments (PVP)

Heinrich has a couple of viable options for PvP. Most often, he is used as a Speed contest strip/debuffer unit, but he can also be built as a Revelation DPS to boost the damage of any Cleave or CC lineup.

  • Main Stats:
    • SPD: His most important stat for both builds will be a focus on Speed. This needs to be tuned to your team, but ideally, he is the fastest behind your Turn Meter boost character.
    • Effect ACC: His next most important stat is Effect Accuracy to land his strip and debuffs reliably.
  • Conditional Stats:
    • HP/ATK/DEF: After that, you can go for Tank stats for the Speed build or you can go for 100% Crit Rate and Attack stats for the Revelation build.

Comments

Heinrich for PvE generally does not need Lattice investment; however, if you want to invest, it is recommended to max Skill 3 for the Speed and CDR for his primary strip skill. Next investments would be S2 and then S1, but these are less important overall and it is recommended to invest in other areas of your team.

In PVP, Skill 3 is his highest priority since it has Speed and a lower CD on his most important skill. Further investment is not recommended due to the relatively low impact of the investment, but S2 would be the next skill due to the higher chance of applying Wound.
