Core Passive Meridian Enlightenment
For a brief period when Pan Yinhu's EX Special Attack: Mountainous Pulse Strike hits an enemy and triggers Quick Assist, the next Agent entering through a Quick Assist or Chain Attack will gain the Meridian Flow effect. This effect provides a Sheer Force boost equal to 9% of Pan Yinhu's ATK and lasts for 25s. The Sheer Force provided by this effect cannot exceed 540 points.

When Pan Yinhu hits an enemy with Special Attack: Touch of Death, the enemy suffers the Depleted Qi effect, increasing all DMG against the target by 20%. Each hit of Special Attack: Touch of Death inflicts a 10s Depleted Qi effect. This effect can't stack, but repeated hits on the same enemy will extend the duration.

Review
Extremely simple plug-and-play Support Agent — anyone can pick him up. Basically the equivalent of Lucy for Sheer Force-scaling Agents, with very low field time and effective buffs;
The only Sheer Force buffer at the time of his release, a unique and valuable role;
Rare presence of healing in his kit which helps with party survivability;
Very low-cost Agent who needs little resources investment-wise aside from his ATK requirement;
Scales well with Mindscapes while retaining his functionality at a baseline.
Only usable with Rupture Agents — very specialized character (excels in his niche but doesn't have the generalist potential of Agents like Nicole/Lucy);
Must be placed before the DPS Agent in the party which can make some team options awkward (with characters like Trigger);
Has a scarce amount of effective W-Engine options.
Pan Yinhu is an A-rank Physical Defender Agent whose primary specialties include buffing Sheer Force, healing the party and increasing damage taken by enemies to enhance teammates, particularly Rupture Agents.
His kit is extremely simple by design, meaning he is easy to pick up for any Proxies wanting to try him out — simple yet effective characterizes this Agent. Only 3 of his abilities are particularly important so we will only detail them: his EX Special, his Special and his Ultimate.
First of all, let’s discuss Pan Yinhu’s Ultimate: it deals high Physical DMG and at max level, heals the entire squad for up to 1.6% HP/s per second over 8s (for a total of 12.8% HP) on top of an extra 1060 HP. On most Agents, you can expect this healing to equal between 15 to 20% of their HP, which is a good chunk of help towards keeping your squad alive. It can be used whenever your teammates need healing, or if you somehow aren’t taking damage, there is no specific timing to use it. It is worth noting Pan Yinhu’s Mindscape 4 further increases this healing effect by providing additional healing if Agents are hit by an attack (equivalent to 50% of the flat HP healing given by the Ultimate).
Pan Yinhu’s Special is the more interesting part of his kit and allows him to access his buffing potential. Using EX Special restores 3 points of “Break Force”, a resource he can use to cast Specials called “Touch of Death”. There are a few reasons to execute both of these abilities:
Using EX Special accesses the Quick Assist of the previous member in the squad, and it activates Pan Yinhu’s “Meridian Flow” effect provided by his Core Passive. Meridian Flow converts a certain percentage of his ATK into Sheer Force for the character who uses this Quick Assist at up to 540 points (Mindscape 0) or 720 points (Mindscape 6). At max Core Passive level, the ATK requirement to maximize the buff (both at Mindscape 0 and Mindscape 6) is 3000 points. This effect lasts 25s.
Using Touch of Death applies the “Depleted Qi” effect to enemies hit if his Additional Ability is activated, which increases their DMG taken by 20% (with an extra 10% boost at Mindscape 1). This effect lasts 10s.
Therefore, Pan Yinhu’s simple gameplay sums up to the following steps:
Use EX Special to buff the Sheer Force of the previous character in the squad by triggering a Quick Assist (ideally a Rupture damage dealer) every 25s;
Use 1 Touch of Death to increase the DMG taken by enemies every 10s (can be done 3 times with EX Special);
Use Ultimate if teammates need healing or when readily available.
This is enough to cover his gameplay — Pan Yinhu doesn’t deal much damage on his own and instead relies on Rupture damage dealers like Yixuan to handle the heavy lifting. He therefore doesn’t want to take up much field time, and his kit is perfect for that.
Pan Yinhu is nonetheless introduced as a pretty good contender in the meta to buff Rupture agents. As the only direct buffer of Sheer Force on his release, he fills a unique role with Rupture damage dealers like Yixuan to increase their damage by a lot — as general ATK increasing supports are less favourable to buff the Sheer Force of Rupture agents than Pan Yinhu’s buff. This makes him fill a niche, but appreciated role, not to mention the healing provided by his Ultimate gives extra comfort in battle, allowing you to tank a few enemy hits without budging.
In conclusion, Pan Yinhu is an easy, plug-and-play Support for Rupture Agents, able to buff their Sheer Force DMG effectively while keeping a simplistic playstyle and a good balance between buffing capabilities and survivability via the healing his Ultimate provides. Overall a potent Support Agent which does exactly what you expect him to in an effective way.
This tier list assesses Agents (characters) based on their combat potential in Zenless Zone Zero’s most demanding contents -Deadly Assault (DA) and Shiyu Defense (SD).
SD is a similar mode to Genshin Impact’s Spiral Abyss or Honkai Star Rail’s Memory of Chaos and requires 2 teams of 3 Agents with good Disk Drives and W-Engines. This mode offers a reasonable mix of Boss encounters (single-target) and Elite packs (2-3 targets), allowing multiple characters to find a niche. With that being said, there is a bias towards single-target performance, which may reflect in select character ratings. Additionally, since this content’s goal is to kill all enemies within the shortest time frame possible, Agents who dish out lots of damage quickly instead of damage over time are favoured. This Tier List focuses on Agents’ ability to clear within 150s (2m30s) out of the 300s (5m) needed to obtain all rewards.
DA is a very unique mode in Zenless Zone Zero which offers Boss encounters exclusively, meaning other types of damage than single-target are rarely impactful (if ever). It requires a total of 3 teams to maximize all possible rewards, however only 2 well-geared teams are necessary to maximize Polychrome (premium pull currency) rewards (which are the most important and as a result are what we consider for this Tier List). The goal of this gamemode is to inflict as much damage to a boss as possible in a total time span of 3 minutes, meaning sustainable damage within long time windows is favoured. A maximum of 65000 score points can be obtained by fully depleting a boss’s HP, however this is unrealistic for the overwhelming majority of players while being unnecessary to maximize rewards. Only 20000 points is needed to maximize said rewards, with up to 5000 points being obtainable via Performance (obtained via performing certain actions on specific Boss enemies). Agents’ ability to reach this threshold of 20000 points is what the Tier List focuses upon.
Please keep in mind Zenless Zone Zero is a skill-based game and each character has a different playstyle, difficulty level and even special tricks and combos. Zenless Zone Zero is also a team based game and it's only by combining both these factors to the highest level a character can reach optimal performance.

Best generalist Support set, providing a useful 10% ATK on the 2-piece but most importantly buffing DMG dealt by characters entering the field via Quick Assists by upwards of 24%, the biggest buff provided by Disc Drives in the game. Generally a must-have set on any team.

Niche supportive set used for Agents that are in the position of triggering Perfect Assists. Grants the entire party 15% increased DMG for 10s when triggering a Perfect Assist. Typically used if an Astral Voice wielder is already on the team and the equipped Agent is in a position to trigger lots of Perfect Assists. This set's value is significantly diminished if the player isn't comfortable with timing Perfect Assists, in which case Swing Jazz will be favoured.

One of the best supportive set options. Grants the entire squad a 15% DMG increase for 12 seconds following a Chain Attack or Ultimate, which is easy to time with a Stun window for optimal buff uptime. Additionally grants 20% Energy Regen on the 2-piece to ensure EX Special uptime if necessary on the equipped character, generally used if another Agent in the squad already uses Astral Voice.
Best combined with your choice of 2-PC Set:

Note: Pan Yinhu is a very low-cost Agent, as he only needs to meet his 3000 ATK requirement. Other than that, if you wish to optimize build him for damage with as much CRIT as possible (this isn't necessary though, we recommend you spare the resources).

Pan Yinhu's rotations are extremely simple in design. He only wants to activate a few of his key abilities when available at specific intervals. His gameplay can be summed up to the following steps:
- Use EX Special to buff the Sheer Force of the previous character in the squad by triggering a Quick Assist (ideally a Rupture damage dealer) every 25s;
- Use 1 Touch of Death to increase the DMG taken by enemies every 10s (can be done 3 times with EX Special);
- Use Ultimate if teammates need healing or when readily available.
With Yixuan as his DPS to support, ensure you execute Defensive Assists to switch into Pan Yinhu to feed Adrenaline to Yixuan and generate extra Daze.
Additional Note: Make sure Pan Yinhu is always the party member following the DPS he is supporting, so that he can Quick Assist into them with his EX Special and provide his Sheer Force boost properly.
